    Job Responsibilities and Duties

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Ensures each employee is given the highest level of customer service and every staff member, patient, vendor and other contacts are treated with the utmost respect
    • Self-dispatch and/or at request of supervisor(s), to facilities to diagnose/repair/engage vendor to repair various mechanical and system issues, including plumbing, roof, doors, electrical, HVAC and other similar systems
    • Participates as needed in construction process and initial facility setup
    • Works with other vendors such as phone, low-voltage cabling, radiology, security etc. to get items repaired in timely basis that cannot be directly repaired
    • Spends time on-site as necessary to check-up on existing sites
    • Maintains or arrange vendors to maintain facilities as needed for repairs and other upkeep
    • Be available by cell phone (as part of overall on-call process) to respond to emergency facility issues (plumbing leaks, clogged toilet etc.)
    • Work as part of on-call rotation (typically one week on call and several weeks off) as needed, which will include occasional evenings/weekends when must be available by phone and able to respond to emergencies
    • Be willing and able to travel out of home area (city and state) on regular basis as needed. May require occasional travel, especially for new facility setup. Travel may include occasional travel to other cities or states for multiple nights. Typical overnight travel is 20% or less
    • Troubleshoot issues to determine if problem can be fixed or requires third-party vendor
    • Work with existing maintenance, construction, IT and other staff
    • Perform and/or assist as needed prior to opening a new facility:
    • Delivers and installs medical and other equipment and supplies
    • Delivers and installs furniture, fixtures and computer equipment
    • Test and confirm functionality of all systems, working with other staff as necessary
    • Sets up and helps un-box supply cabinets, racks, and other storage.
    • Works with other vendors such as phone, low-voltage cabling, radiology, security etc. to ensure timely delivery and installation of items
    • Help with removal of debris, boxes, trash, and other miscellaneous requirements to make the opening process run smoothly
    • Other tasks as directed by supervisor
    • Maintain updated and accurate “to-do” list by facility, including efficient use of time and routing of trips
    • Participate as directed with preventive maintenance plans.
    • Maintain organized records for company vehicle usage, corporate credit card receipts and other records as needed or requested by supervisor
    • Performs or manages contractors/vendors for maintenance of: painting, electric (ballast, bulb replacement etc.), plumbing, carpet, upholstery, window cleaning, meeting vendors at site during non-business hours, manage vendors, cleaning/construction crews, other service providers
    • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install simple low-voltage electrical devices
    • Ability to review, respond, and update helpdesk tickets via computer and/or cell phone

    • Must possess basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft product (word, excel, outlook)
    • Ability to perform simple and moderate tasks including math



    Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 4-year college degree or trade school preferred
    • Must have at least 2 years as a full-time hands-on facility maintenance worker, with “handyman” skills for such things as drywall/paint repair, replacement and resolution of small plumbing fixture issues (toilet valves, replacement of faucets, replacement of fluorescent ballasts/bulbs etc.
    • Must have the ability to perform simple and complex tasks including project scheduling, forecasting and budget reconciliation.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Must be available during a variety of different hours
    • Must be willing and able to learn new skills outside of normal comfort zone, including basic computer networking/troubleshooting skills, telephony and other technology not related to maintenance
    • Previous construction and/or construction management experience highly preferred
    • Must be willing and able to learn new skills and accept training
    • Ability to proactively recognize and resolve issues
