    Responsibilities

    Under the direct supervision of the department Director, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients’ condition, providing patient safety comfort, and privacy at all times. The RN assists the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate. The RN is responsible for implementing the Post Anesthesia Care record, nursing care plan and the assimilation of the patient’s hospital record.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
    • Current registration and licensure with the Board of Nurse Examiners for the state or a Compact state.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of perioperative nursing experience.
    • ICU experience preferred.
    • Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider and ACLS is required. PALS required in DFW only.
    • Basic knowledge of continuous quality improvement ideology.
