    The Compliance Auditor is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting financial and operational data, including compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and to study and evaluate key business processes. The efficiency and effectiveness of the information is evaluated and communicated. The Compliance Auditor is expected to communicate and work with external auditors or other companies doing business with Adeptus from which audit information is gathered, communicated or audited, as necessary, determined by the annual plan. The position requires sharp planning, organizational, and analytical skills to quickly analyze information and report the results with tact and diplomacy. This is an Exempt position.

    Job Responsibilities and Duties
    Essential Job Functions:
    • Performs strategic assessments of compliance issues and risks; develop annual compliance audit schedule and work plan
    • Performs random statistical analyses. Manage and conduct compliance audits and follow-up reviews
    • Develop and revise compliance audit policy and procedures
    • Prepare accurate and timely audit reports and ensure that audit work meets internal auditing standards
    • Reports major deficiencies to executive management and the audit/compliance committee
    • Develops and implements action plans and reports in coordination with respective department leads: requires in-depth work to identify the cause, criteria, condition, effect and recommendation for each finding reported
    • Ability to run diverse projects simultaneously

    Not responsible for managing any employees

    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in health care operations, preferably finance
    • Superb communication, organizational, and writing skills with attention to detail
    • One of the following is required:
     CIA certification
     CISA certification
     RHIA or CCS with 6 years coding experience
     6 years internal/external audit experience
     1 year internal/external audit experience with a master’s degree in health care administration or related field
    • Experience and proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power point; proficient in creating forms and documents
    • Skilled in creating summary spreadsheets, documents, and presentations
    • Customer service experience preferred
    • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel throughout the multi-state organization as required; up to 10% travel
