Responsibilities

The Clinical Systems Integration Manager facilitates and participates in planning, discussions, problem solving, integration and deployment projects with various vendors as well as internal IT and facilities teams. This role involves equal parts project management and administration of various clinical systems, including but not limited to registration and EMR systems. In this role you will interface with clinicians and IT to form and execute plans for administrative updates to our systems, including but not limited to CPOE and chargemaster updates. Project management elements of this role include tracking timelines, planning and attending conference calls, fielding strategic and tactical IT questions from partners at direction of CD&AO, and escalating unknown or new issues to appropriate resources to keep things on track. You will also take a proactive role in Identifying and resolving bottlenecks and risks to drive ever-improving clinical and IT quality. Must be clinically-minded and a stellar multi-tasker, coordinator and communicator.

 

Essential Job Functions:
• Works at direction of, and occasionally on behalf of, Chief Data and Analytics Officer on various projects and integrations with outside vendors
• Works primarily at the corporate office. Some travel will be required to partner locations in other regions/states
• Works as Project Manager, monitoring timelines and resources, costs and quality, integrating and deploying IT solutions into facilities
• Understand complex network/PC/server/application concepts, identify potential pitfalls, and be able to speak authoritatively on these
• Independently research to find solutions to problems
• Identify opportunities to simplify integrations and projects
• Maintain detailed procedures for job functions for own position and subordinates
• Produce and review meeting notes, summaries, requirements, and other project-related documents
• Mentor/train/assist other staff as needed and as requested
• Must be available for some after-hours responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
• Clearly and effectively communicate to partners, fellow employees, users and vendors
• Manage stakeholders at all levels
• Direct and perform systems administrative tasks as needed
• Direct and perform electronic documentation application maintenance
• Coordinate, document and manage multi-site clinical systems implementations
• Strong understanding of, and experience with, the following clinical technologies: EMR, PACS/RIS, LIS, HL-7 interface engine
• Participate in the design, risk analysis and documentation of integration projects for improving data flow and electronic communication among disparate clinical systems
• Requires technical knowledge and an ability to manage vendor relationships
• Duties include accurate documentation and coordination of schedules
• Comfortable contributor to specification-level discussions of clinical systems and clinical workflow
• Strong analytical skills and verifiable experience working with hospitals (or clinics) and clinical systems vendors.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Supervises project and functional teams for a variety of initiatives assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
• B.S. degree required in computer science, project management or related technical field
• 5+ years of related IT experience in an enterprise environment, to include:
o 2+ years in a technical role
o 3+ years of experience directly managing IT projects of moderate complexity
o 3+ years in a project management role supporting EMR or EDIS
o Understanding of EMR, EDIS, clinical workflow, CPOE, PACS, RIS, LIS and HL7 interfaces
• Strong skills in math, logic and troubleshooting
• Previous experience creating/updating detailed project documentation, notes and similar
• Moderately detailed understanding of underlying technology, including but not limited to:
o Microsoft Office, Exchange Server, Active Directory
o Basic low-voltage cabling knowledge (design, install, defining requirements, terminology etc.)
• Experience with GE Centricity and/or any hospital EMR system is a plus
• Conversant in SQL, Windows, VMWare, and network technologies preferred
• Previous healthcare technical support experience preferred
• Demonstrated experience deploying and supporting an EMR or EDIS implementation preferred
• Business knowledge of general business applications preferred
• Nursing experience preferred, ideally in an informatics role
