The Respiratory Therapist responds to emergency situations, sets up and operates various types of oxygen and other therapeutic gas, mist inhalation equipment to be used in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and illness to both general floor and critical care areas.


  • Must be a graduate of a Respiratory Care Program from an accredited COARC program.
  • Must be a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care, certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is preferred.
  • Current licensure by the state.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hospital experience is required.
  • Current  BLS for the Healthcare Provider, ACLS, PALS, and NRP is required. Must have a current card from an American Heart Association (AHA) recognized course.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in emergency situations, including intubation assists, rapid responses, blood gas analyzers, co-oximeters, aerosol generators, breathing circuits, suction equipment/gauges, respirometers, manual resuscitators, oxygen humidifiers, mechanical ventilators, medical gas cylinders, regulators, flow meters, mechanical percussors, and vibrators.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Conversational English.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
