    Workers Compensation Specialist is responsible for reviewing Workers Compensation records to determine whether documentation substantiates the medical necessity, quality of care, utilization, and coding of insurance claims. The Workers Compensation Specialist will ensure that data collected for reporting purposes from various departments is within charging practices and departmental policies. This is a non-exempt position.



    Job Responsibilities and Duties

    Essential Functions:

    • Ensure all Workers Compensation accounts are reviewed timely
    • Contact employers and insurance carriers to confirm claim details and obtain billing address
    • Communicate carrier information to vendors, to ensure timely delivery of claim to correct party Work collaboratively with Marketing to address any employer billing concerns
    • Serve as primary contact for Workers Compensation inquiries
    • Review and respond to all emails filtered through DL, relating to Workers Compensation
    • Attendance requirements are based on your current role and status of position (FT, PT or PRN). Please direct attendance requirements to your immediate supervisor and/or refer to the Employee Handbook for more attendance/scheduling details/policies

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    Not responsible for managing any employees.

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma required


    • Workers Compensation experience a plus
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare billing office
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Internet Explorer/Chrome
