Responsibilities

***Adeptus' Corporate Office will be relocating from Lewisville to Irving, TX in January 2018***

This position is responsible for monitoring the financial functions within the hospitals and free standing emergency rooms (FCERs/HOPDs) with a geographic market(s). Prepare key regulatory reports on behalf of the facilities within the market. Partner with key functions within the corporate organization, such as accounting, revenue integrity, operations, legal, supply chain and strategy. Hours are Monday – Friday, may require extended hours during peak times. This is an Exempt position.  

Essential Job Functions:

  • Partner with Hospital CEO to review revenue, expenses, and capital equipment business cases
  • Enhance and/or develop and implement policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation, control environment and financial effectiveness of the geographic market
  • Conduct analytical review of financial results by comparing costs incurred to budgets and explain key variances. Develop and measure action plans to improve performance
  • Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures such as invoice processing, cash management, accounting, and revenue cycle, in the absence of facility controllers
  • Assist the Corporate Revenue Cycle team with ensuring claims are billed properly, and problem claims are addressed in a timely manner
  • Maintaining the controls over the Charge Master used by the hospitals and HOPDs.
  • Assist with the development and monitor performance-based compensation, where appropriate
  • Assist in preparation of Medicare/Medicaid cost reports and assist with audits, as appropriate
  • Partner with the Hospital CEOs and/or Hospital CFO to implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls to protect the assets of the hospitals – including compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (“SOX”)
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations
  • Assist corporate accounting with audits, as appropriate
  • Responsible for reporting for internal, external and regulatory requirements for the hospitals
  • Preparation of forecasts, and annual preparation of a budget
  • Prepare analyses and Performa’s as needed
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting
• 5+ years’ experience working, including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reporting
• 5+ years’ experience working in healthcare as a financial decision support capacity
• Credibility, ethical, full disclosure and clean financial history
• The ability to create procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate
