Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Revenue Cycle-Inhouse, the A/R Specialist is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the processes of downloading documents, posting payments received into the Centricity system to assure the revenue cycle is optimized.  This is a full time, 40 hour per week position.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate posting of payments that are received either by lockbox, EFT’s or credit card processes.
  • Ensures that payments are distributed accordingly to the balance on the account
  • Balances out each batch of payments posted for each payment received by the lockbox, EFT’s or credit card system.
  • Responsible for placing each claim into the appropriate work cue once an EOB is received and processed:
  • Recognize, make corrections, and/or notify appropriate personnel regarding past due, bad debt, or collections accounts.
  • Handle other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical
  • Understanding of insurance carrier plan configurations in respect to calculations of coinsurance, deductibles and percentages
  • Possess the ability to deal tactfully with all types of personnel, medical staff and the public
