We require a world-class database developer to join our Analytics Department. After years of database migrations, consolidations and complete restarts with new clinical and financial systems, we have lost our ability to report coherently. Our new Analytics Department has begun the task of mapping the various data sources and designing a data warehouse to facilitate accurate enterprise reporting. Though business stakeholders have a heavy appetite for dashboards, the presentation of charts and graphs is not our primary focus; we must build a rock solid foundation with ETL and warehousing to ensure accurate reportable data across our numerous disparate systems.

As a technology leader on this team, you must bring the following:

  • Limitless capacity for critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Guru level tech chops
  • Demonstrable track record of building a warehouse using ETL, MQT development in MS SQL Server
  • Addiction to producing on-time and accurate results in a time-pressured environment
  • Enthusiastic approach to working and collaborating within Agile and Waterfall teams alongside other highly-skilled technologists, analysts and project manager teammates
  • Professor-level understanding of, and presentation skills with, database design and data warehousing.

This is a hands-on role, not a management role. We need a wizard who breathes database technology.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, IT or a related field Preferred.
  • Expert level SQL skills
  • Must have 10+ years of related IT experience in an enterprise environment, to include:
    • 8+ years of experience hands-on Microsoft SQL Server administration, including server and database setup/support, development of complex tables, relationships, views, queries, stored procedures and security context
    • 5+ years in lead design/development role for OLAP data warehouse projects
    • 5+ years of overall general IT experience (SQL related or otherwise), which could include desktop/server/network setup and support, helpdesk, or other user-facing or infrastructure-related experience
  • Must have one or more current industry technical certifications. CIO will determine if a particular certification is acceptable towards this requirement
    • Examples: MCSE: Data Platform and/or MCSE: Business Intelligence
    • Note: “A+” Certifications do not count towards this requirement
  • Windows desktop, server operating systems and SQL (all versions 2003 and newer)
  • Information privacy/security mindset and experience
  • TCP/IP expertise at basic level (must understand basic TCP/IP network topology)
  • Business knowledge of general business applications
  • Previous healthcare and/or financial domain experience preferred
  • Experience with GE Centricity, Evident and/or any hospital EMR system is a plus
